The Little Robot Afraid of the Dark
aurora
Timtim was the tiniest robot of all — so tiny that his voice went tim-tim-timtim. By day he was as brave as a lion, but the moment night fell and the lights went out... tremble tremble! I am scared of the dark, he would whisper, diving under his blanket.
One night his friend, the doll Chandni, came to him. Timtim, she said, the dark is no monster — it is just light taking a little nap! And you carry your own light inside. With that, she switched on the tiny bulb in his chest. Tim! A golden glow spread everywhere.
Timtim gasped. He tiptoed around the room — nothing scary at all! Only his toys, sleeping soundly. His tummy rumbled with happiness: grrrr! Chandni giggled: See? Fear ran away, and hunger came instead!
The next night Timtim spotted the toy soldier trembling in the dark. He hurried over, lit his bulb, and said, Don't be afraid — I'm here! The soldier smiled and drifted off to sleep. Timtim's chest puffed up with pride.
Now Timtim sleeps every night with his little bulb glowing — tim-tim-timtim. And you, dear children? If fear ever visits, close your eyes, take a deep breath, and remember: the light is inside you. Goodnight!
Moral: Courage chases fear away, because the real light lives in your heart.
