Felix Dips a Toe

Felix loved everything about the swimming pool except one thing: the water.

He loved the smell of the pool. He loved the bright blue tiles. He loved watching the bigger kids splash and laugh. But when his turn came to step in, his feet stopped at the edge, like they were glued to the floor.

"I don't want to," Felix whispered to his mother. "What if I sink?"
