Safaai, the Beach-Cleaning Robot
aurora
By the sea lived a robot — Safaai. Every morning she marched onto the beach collecting litter: bottles, bags, cans. Her best friend was Kitkit, a tiny crab who picked up small trash with his scissor-like claws. The pair was famous!
One day Kitkit cried out: Kit-kit! Look! A baby turtle was tangled in plastic. Safaai gently freed him. Tears filled the turtle's eyes. Safaai said, Look, friends — how dirty your home has become.
Safaai called the children. Holding up a bottle, she asked, If this goes into the sea, what happens? The children thought hard. Safaai explained: Fish mistake it for food and fall sick. The children promised: We will never dirty the beach again!
Then everyone joined a cleanup drive — Kitkit leading the way! Within a week the beach sparkled. Turtles raced across the sand. One morning the fish leapt from the water to say thanks — SPLASH! The children laughed: Look, the sea is happy too!
Now every Sunday the children clean the beach with Safaai and Kitkit. Safaai says: Nature is a trust given to us. And Kitkit? He just says: Kit-kit!
Dear children, when did YOU last pick up litter and bin it? Small act, big difference!
Moral: Protecting the environment is everyone's duty.
